MP wishes Government support had come sooner
A South Yorkshire MP has welcomed an announcement that the steel industry will get help with energy costs sooner than first thought – but wishes it could have been sooner.
The Government announced yesterday that UK Energy Intensive Industries, including steel, have been granted state aid for the cost of renewables.
John Healey, MP for Wentworth and Dearne, said: “I welcome this announcement but with our steel industry now on its knees, I wish it had come sooner.”
