ROTHERHAM MP Denis MacShane aims to ‘honour the memory’ of a late colleague by voting against a planned mass cull of badgers.

He said former Labour Wentworth MP Peter Hardy, who died in 2003, introduced the first legislation in 1973 to protect badgers.

Mr MacShane said: “The idea of farmers and shooters roaming our fields at dusk as they try and kill badgers is horrifying.

“All MPs can honour the memory of Lord Hardy by voting to protect badgers.”
