MP ROSIE Winterton visited the Doncaster Dome to meet youngsters who have found work through a training and employment charity.
The Transforming a Generation programme helped nine previously long-term unemployed youngsters to gain a level two Health and Fitness qualification as well as a paid work placement at venues run by Doncaster Culture and Leisure Trust across the borough.
The Transforming a Generation learners will spend four-and-a-half months at the various venues, learning the ropes and training on the job.
Ms Winterton MP said: “I am pleased to see that local employers such as the Dome see the value of getting involved in community projects like TAG.
“I have enjoyed meeting the young people who have benefited from this project, supported by the Future Jobs Fund.
“With nearly a million young people aged 16 to 24 currently unemployed it is important that help is provided to tackle the high level of youth unemployment.”
