“I’m really feeling good about my racing and I feel the best is yet to come,” he said. “I always felt my move to Sheffield would prove to be a good one and that’s how it’s working out for me.

“The track is great for me and we have found the set-up around there which really suits the way I ride my bike, I’m really pleased with how things are going.

“As a team we are doing pretty well and I know all the boys will be desperate to go racing again on Thursday because we have had a gap following the rain-off last Thursday.

“We need to build up some momentum again now and keep putting points on the board and there is no reason why we cannot do that.

“I’m looking forward to getting back racing with Sheffield again, I’ve had some individual meetings but it’s always good to race with the team.”

Tigers youngster Josh Bates made an impressive start to his first ever World Under 21 Final campaign at the weekend.

He notched 12-points in the meeting at King’s Lynn and is eight points behind series leader Krzysztof Pieszcek, a relatively unknown Polish riders who won the final.

It was a fine effort by Bates with fellow Brit Robert Lambert runner-up on 19-points.
