WHAT was wrong with the pound note, the half crown, the shilling and the sixpence, all abolished for decimalisation? Nobody asked the British people for their opinion. In 1971 the political elite decided it was in the best interest for us all to lose them. What with kilogrammes and metres, things ain’t what they used to be.
