Mountain rescue team volunteers helped a woman who slipped and fractured her ankle while walking in the Peak District with a party of school children.

The woman, from Macclesfield, was on Winnats Pass in Castleton when she slipped.

Ambulance service paramedics gave her emergency first aid at the scene before members of Edale and Buxton mountain rescue teams placed her onto a stretcher who carried her to the Speedwell Cavern where a land ambulance was waiting.

She was then taken to hospital for further treatment.
