Edale Mountain Rescue Team was called out to help a man who suffered a suspected fractured ankle during a walk near Chatsworth.

The man was walking with relatives in Beeley when he slipped at around 3pm on Saturday.

Mountain Rescue volunteers erected a shelter tent to keep him warm while paramedics administered pain relief at the scene.

He was then placed on a stretcher and carried to an ambulance.

Rescue team spokesman Ed Proudfoot said: “With the gentleman on his way to hospital, and his family safely back off the hill to accompany him, team members then made their way back to base to spend several

hours cleaning and drying the equipment used, in readiness for our next call-out.”
