MOUNTAIN rescue team volunteers helped a mountain biker who suffered chest injuries when he came off his bike as he rode down a hillside near Castleton.

Members of the Buxton and Edale teams were called out to Great Ridge, between Mam Tor and Back Tor, in the Peak District, to help paramedics deal with the injured 43-year-old biker, from Woking in Surrey.

An Edale Mountain Rescue team spokesman said: “He was carried to an ambulance and taken to hospital for further treatment.”
