Motorists and passengers stranded in chest-high floodwater in Hathersage
Torrential rain yesterday led to flash flooding on School Lane, with some motorists and passengers ending up trapped in rising water.
Paramedics, firefighters and Edale mountain rescue team were alerted to the incident.

Hide AdJames Stubley, leader of Edale mountain rescue team, said: "Following prolonged widespread rainfall, we were requested by East Midlands Ambulance Service to assist with a developing incident in Hathersage.
"On arrival at School Lane, our members were confronted with chest-deep floodwater.
"With roofs of vehicles only just visible, they worked with Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service's water rescue unit from Buxton.
"Residents in the immediate vicinity and vehicle occupants were recovered to safety."
