It caused delays for motorists heading towards Meadowhall.
The vehicle was recovered and taken to a compound.

Highways England tweeted: "Broken down car in lane one.
"The owner abandoned it telling us they had just left it there as they had somewhere to be."
They added: "The owner will collect the bill for this in order to get the vehicle back."
