A motorcyclist died in a collision with a lorry outside a Rotherham colliery.

South Yorkshire Police said the 31-year-old man was riding a white Suzuki motorbike which was involved in a collision with a white Scania HGV lorry outside Maltby Colliery, Tickhill Road, Maltby, at 5.30pm yesterday.

The lorry was turning right out of the colliery at the time.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "An investigation is currently ongoing and officers are appealing for any witnesses that may have seen the collision, or manor of driving prior to the collision to please report it."
