Mother of dead boy found unconscious

The youngster was found dead at a house on Corbar Road, Buxton, on Thursday morning and a 43-year-old woman, now identified as his mum, was found unconscious.

Derbyshire Police said a post mortem examination of the youngster’s body had proved inconclusive but revealed that no weapons were used to kill him.

Officers are still awaiting the results of further tests to try to establish exactly what happened.

The woman, who has not yet been named, is being treated and assessed at Stepping Hill Hospital, Stockport.
