More travel disruption between Sheffield and Huddersfield

Northern Rail have issued a travel update warning on severe disruption between Huddersfield and Sheffield due to a road vehicle blocking the line.

Reports say it is due to a push bike on the tracks, but this is not yet confirmed.

Train services running through the station may be cancelled, delayed or suspended and disruption is expected until 8:30pm tonight.

Road replacement transport is in place between Huddersfield and Barnsley, and other transport has been requested to help stranded passengers.

Emergency services and Network Rail staff are en-route to the site to assess the situation.
