229 people have died in the Doncaster hospital trust area during the COVID-19 pandemic and Sprotbrough Methodist Church has introduced the colourful display to remember each one of the town’s fatalities.
Spokesman Matt Beckingham said: “The Ribbons of Remembrance installation is to remember those known to them who have passed during lockdown.

The church has also created a ‘prayer labyrinth’ around what’s believed to be one of Doncaster’s oldest trees, in the centre of the grounds where people can take a moment to pause and reflect.
The town’s coronavirus death toll has slowed dramatically in recent weeks with no fatalities reported across the whole of South Yorkshire for several days.
