More sun on the way on Monday after Sheffield enjoys hottest day of 2016

Sheffield is set for another scorcher on Monday (May 9) after sizzling in the hottest day of the year so far on Sunday.

The mercury hit 25 degrees Celsius in Sheffield today as people took to gardens and countryside to make the most of the hot weather - just days after snow was falling at the end of April.

On Monday, the Met Office has forecast another clear and sunny day, with temperatures not quite matching Sunday’s high point - ‘just’ 22 degrees C at the peak sunshine from 1-3pm.
