More demonstrations are underway in Sheffield today, with protesters objecting to the controversial tree felling programme in the city.

One group has gathered on Chippinghouse Road, Nether Edge, for a second day and another is staging a protest on Stead Road, also in Nether Edge.

Trees are being felled across the city as part of a tree and road improvement scheme.

Four women and three men were arrested and later charged over a protest they mounted on Chippinghouse Road yesterday in a bid to save a horse chestnut tree.
