Go to Brodsworth Hall, go directly to Brodsworth Hall, do not pass go and do not collect £200!

That could be the mantra later this month as the Monopoly World Championships head to the historic Doncaster venue for the very first time.

The Yorkshire regional heats of the 2015 Monopoly World Championships will be held at the English Heritage property on June 13.

Monopoly fans from Yorkshire will have the chance to qualify for the UK final, with the adult winner heading to the world finals in Macau when the a special Monopoly tour bus visits Doncaster.

The specially designed double-decker bus, fitted with ten Monopoly tables, is visiting 12 towns across the UK and Ireland to find the nation’s best player.

In honour of the 80th Anniversary of Monopoly, the regional heats will play host to 80 adult competitors and 80 junior competitors, each taking part across four heats throughout the day.

The winners from each heat will go through to the regional final later that day, before two winners are crowned (one from the adult pool and one from the junior pool).

Winners from each regional final will make it through to the UK and Irish final, taking place at The Shard in London on Sunday 19 July.

The winner of the adult UK and Ireland final will then travel to Macau, China where they will compete against Monopoly champions from across the globe in world final.

Kay Green, Hasbro UK Marketing Director said: “We’re travelling the UK and Ireland searching for the very best Monopoly players and giving fans of all ages the chance to reach the grand final. The events are designed for the whole family in mind and are set to be a thrilling competition from start to finish.

“What better way for us to celebrate the 80th Anniversary of Monopoly than for a British or Irish champion to bring home the World Championship in Macau?”
