Little Sheffield has raised £1,500 so far and is hoping to raise a further £1,500 to bring a mobile monthly film screening to Sheffield residents.

The project, which will pilot in Crookes, will screen one family film followed by a film for adults, with an opportunity for people to chat and socialise in between.

Little Sheffield founder Katie Hayward said: “We are hoping the people of Sheffield will help us bring this exciting project to fruition. This project is all about promoting social opportunities where people can meet regularly and socialise together.’

“We anticipate over 200 people will benefit from each film screening. Many of these people may be excluded from mainstream cinema due to age, having children, babies or not being able to travel. This project is a really great opportunity to enable people to meet, socialise, enjoy time together and ultimately enjoy their community.”

Volunteers at Little Sheffield hope to run regular screenings at various locations across the city following a successful pilot.
