“I am thrilled to have been given this opportunity to prove myself,” said Mitch, from Swallownest.

“The three-year contract will give me access to the electronic music world, playing at a huge choice of clubs and venues, and will run alongside my current music tech studies, progressing me even more.”

Mitch is a former UTC Sheffield City Centre campus students and is currently studying for a music technology degree in Leeds. His ambition is to become a music producer. For the competition - organised by management company Emerging Ibiza - he had to submit a DJ mix and was one of two competition winners. He also won the chance to play a set at Space Ibiza.

Brigidin Crowther, Assistant Principal a UTC Sheffield City Centre campus, said: “Mitch showed his talent for music and mixing in his time with us and we are truly thrilled with his success. We expect global DJ domination to follow!”
