POLICE called off their search for a missing man yesterday after a body was discovered.
Jonathan Law, aged 22, from Rotherham, was reported missing on Saturday night. His disappearance was described by worried relatives as “totally out of character”.
The search was called off after a body was discovered in the Swinton area on Monday night. Jonathan was last seen alive in the Bridge Bar, Swinton.
His family has been notified, and an inquest is due to be opened.
Yvonne Jenkinson, 69, of Morrell Street, Maltby, said Jonathan used to rent the house next door with his girlfriend until the couple moved out about three months ago.
“They always spoke, and I used to see Jonathan sitting on his step having a drink and a smoke,” she said.
“He used to go to college so I would see the pair of them going there and back. I think they moved to go to a bigger house.
“It has come as a real shock that he was missing and now that a body has been found.”
