A cabinet minister visited North East Derbyshire to launch the campaign of a Conservative candidate.
Education Secretary Nicky Morgan was in Wingerworth to support Lee Rowley.
He is standing in a bid to become the area’s first Conservative MP.
The seat is held by Labour MP Natascha Engel.
Ms Morgan, who also toured Netherthorpe School in Staveley earlier this year, said: “It was fantastic to come back to North East Derbyshire and kick off Lee’s bid to become the local MP for the place he grew up.
“This is my second visit to the area this year after having the privilege of meeting pupils and staff from Netherthope School a couple of months back.
“I know education is a key issue for the mums and dads of North East Derbyshire and I believe the Conservative-led Government has delivered for local schools.”
