Milestone for new housing development

A new homes development in the Derbyshire village of Wingerworth has sold 70 per cent of its properties, with construction nearing the halfway mark.

Brailsford Park is a Bellway development of three and four-bedroom homes which is being built off Mill Lane in Wingerworth. It includes 32 affordable homes for local people.

The housebuilder is investing in local infrastructure and facilities, including contributions of more than £800,000 towards primary and secondary education, more than £120,000 towards play facilities or open space, and £3,800 towards a new household waste recycling centre.

Sales director for East Midlands division, Ben Smith, said: “We’re delighted to have reached the halfway built stage at Brailsford Park, which is providing much-needed homes for local people.

“The success of the site so far is all down to the fact that we’ve worked hard to ensure that the development offers the kind of properties which home-hunters want to live in.

“With significant contributions towards local infrastructure and facilities also in place, we’re also helping enhance the area for the local community, bringing improvements which will benefit residents now and in the future.”
