AN AWARENESS day about asbestos hazards takes place in Rotherham Minster All Saints church yard on Friday July 1.
The theme of the Action Mesothelioma Day at 11.30am will be low level asbestos exposure for people like schoolteachers and pupils.
Relatives of victims will be able to remember their loved ones and to raise money for Mesothelioma Research by dedicating the name of their loved one and making a donation.
Mesothelioma is an untreatable, terminal lung cancer caused by exposure to asbestos dust. It can lay dormant for up to 50 years.
The day will be opened officially by the Mayor of Rotherham, Coun Shaun Wright.
It will be followed by a short service by the minster clergy including the reading out of names and the lighting of candles.
