Men to stand trial over murder of Rotherham pensioner attacked on way to Rotherham mosque

Two men accused of murdering a pensioner in Rotherham are to stand trial next week.

Damien Lee Hunt, aged 30, of Doncaster Road, East Dene, Rotherham and Dale Jones, also 30, of East Bawtry Road, Whiston, Rotherham, are accused of killing 81-year-old Mushin Ahmed in an attack in Fitzwilliam Road, East Dene, in the early hours of Monday, August 10.

Mr Ahmed was attacked as he made his way to a mosque for morning prayers.

He suffered severe head injuries and died 11 days later in hospital.

Mr Ahmed was married and had four children.
