Men jailed for violent attack during house raid in Derbyshire

Two men have been jailed for six years for an attack on a man in a house they raided.

Robert Clarke and Jermaine Sinfield stormed a house in Scarsdale Street, Carr Vale, in the early hours of August 22 and attacked the occupant before stealing his phone.

They restrained their victim and struck him around the head, arms and legs before taking his phone.

Sinfield used a small wooden bat to attack the 25-year-old, who needed hospital treatment for cuts.

Clarke, 25, and 29-year-old Sinfield, both of Scarsdale Street, pleaded guilty to inflicting grievous bodily harm.

Sinfield also admitted possessing an offensive weapon and causing criminal damage, while Clarke pleaded guilty to theft.

Clarke was jailed for two years and six months, and Sinfield for three years and six months.
