Men arrested for stealing number plates in Brincliffe Edge

The men were spotted acting suspiciously and taking plates from cars in Bannerdale Road, Brincliffe Edge, yesterday evening.

A spokesman for the Sheffield south west policing team said: "On spotting the police, both males ran but were quickly detained after officers sprung into action with a sprint that Usian Bolt would have been proud of.

"Both males are now currently occupying the finest en suite rooms that Shepcote Lane has to offer and will be questioned by officers.

"If anyone has number plates missing from their vehicle in the area, or likewise locate any number plates on or around their property, please contact 101 with the incident number 1181 of November 11."
