A MEMORIAL stone is being unveiled at a beauty spot to mark the deaths of five Canadian airmen who died when their Wellington Bomber crashed in 1944.

The Canadian High Commissioner to Britain is attending the event at Cresswell Crags, near Worksop, on Saturday - which will be followed by a Lancaster bomber fly-past. Families of the men have also been invited.

Colonel Paul Keddy, Air Force Advisor to the UK at the High Commission of Canada, said: “We are extremely grateful for the recognition for our brave Canadian airman.”
