“Vorny had many friends within the tight-knit northern dance scene and was respected throughout the UK and internationally for his music productions and live DJ sets.

“Vorny as a person was a warm, articulate and friendly person who always had time to talk to anybody. His big smile and cheeky infectious character will be missed by everyone who had the pleasure to spend time with him.”

James ‘Vorny’, from Skellow in Doncaster, had been DJing since 2001 at venues including Doncaster’s Warehouse and Plug in Sheffield.

Friend Martin Irwin said: “He was the kindest man you could ever meet, a real gentleman. He was a successful DJ but wasn’t big-headed. He was my best mate for 20 years.”
