Meeting over floods

RESIDENTS in a Rotherham village affected by the summer floods are being invited to attend a public meeting tonight.

The meeting between 7pm and 8pm at Whiston Worrygoose Junior and Infants School is a follow up to a previous public meeting about the floods.

Rotherham Council, police, fire service and Environment Agency are due to attend to answer questions about the June floods and their response.

Council leader Roger Stone said: ““We want to let them know what’s been happening and what progress has been made on the questions they posed at the meeting in July.”

A follow-up meeting has already taken place at Catcliffe and others are planned for planned for the Dinnington and Thorpe Hesley areas.
