Residents in the city centre have objected to plans to extend a bar’s opening hours saying even the movement of beer barrels would disrupt life nearby.

Hawthorn Leisure Honey Limited have recently transformed the Edwards pub on Glossop Road, near West Street, into Sinatra's bar.

Along with the transformation they submitted an application to Sheffield City Council to extend opening hours which has prompted a number of concerns.

Peter Sephton, chair of Glossop Road Bath Residents Association, said the plans would cause “severe night-time disruption” and added that even the movement of a beer barrel could be a nuisance.

The meeting was set to take place today (Tuesday, July 10) but was cancelled and will now take place at a later date.
