The Sharks got off to an unusually slow start and the visitors took advantage of missed attempts to open up a ten point lead thanks to superior distance shooting.

This quickly led to a 16-26 game in Raiders’ favour at the end of the first quarter with Adrien Sturt racking up 11 points including a trio of three pointers.

But Sheffield would fight back, led by star men TJ Robinson and Jerrold Brooks. Robinson went on an 11 point spree to drag the Sharks back into it before centre Brooks added three maximums to reduce the deficit to 42-43 at half time.

After a slow start, Robinson finished the half with 17 points and six rebounds.

The Sharks went in front courtesy of Robinson and skipper Mike Tuck and they began to really show their class with a nine point run to put them in command with seven minutes of the quarter remaining.

Both sides traded points but Sheffield ended the quarter up 61-52.

The Raiders roared back at the start of the fourth with a seven point burst, ensuring a very tense final five minutes.

Brooks landed a three pointer to put some distance between the sides, making it 70-64.

But Plymouth player-coach Daryl Corletto made two successful free throws and a two point jump shot to bring the game back to 70-68.

Sharks coach Atiba Lyons called a timeout with 20 seconds left to play and his side would ultimately see the game out with MVP Robinson and Tuck adding two points apiece for a final score of 74-68.

The two sides renew acquaintances on Sunday in the BBL Trophy quarter-final, this time in Plymouth.
