The organisers of a popular music festival in memory of a Sheffield teenager today were given a helping hand - thanks to The Star.

David Cryer, who runs Matt-Fest at The Birley pub for his son Matthew Cryer, 17, asked for the loan of a marquee to cover an outside bar this week.

His plea was answered by two companies and a marquee was found just in time.

Sarah Haynes of Milestone Marquees stepped forward to help.

Around 1,600 people are expected to attend the festival, which starts at 11am, runs all day and features local bands.

David, of Frecheville. thanked the company for helping out.

He said: “The stage is going up now, it looks like it is going to be a great weekend.”

Money raised from the festival will boost the Justice for Matt campaign after Matt was unlawfully killed in Zante, Greece, in 2008.
