Market helps old folks’ fund

Have your say

Residents and staff at Holmwood Care Home, in Sheffield, have kick-started the festive season with their very own Christmas Market.

The market at Holmwood on Warminster Road, Norton Lees, will be running all week and organisers say it has something for everybody.

Items include Christmas-themed picture frames decorated by residents and Christmas cakes. The fastest selling items are homegrown shallots. Visitors are also invited to participate in the Christmas raffle and tombola, which have so far already raised over £80 for the residents’ fund.

Manager Christine Hockley said: “It has been amazing to see everyone’s enthusiasm and the popularity of the Christmas Market.”
