Maria flying high after winning tickets at airport

IT'S the luck of the Irish - or at least those flying to Ireland!

Dublin-bound Maria Wilson yesterday became the 300,000th passenger to fly from Doncaster’s Robin Hood Airport with budget airline Ryanair. Maria, who lives in Blyth, won two free tickets to Dublin.

“My husband and I have flown with Ryanair previously and found they offer an outstanding service, so I am delighted with the free tickets," she said.

Ryanair began flying from Robin Hood in 2005 with just one route to Dublin.

In the last two years the airline’s operations have expanded, and a fourth route to Alicante in Spain is being launched on November 13. Ryanair expects to carry 200,000 passengers from Doncaster Sheffield in the year ahead.

Caroline Baldwin from the airline said: "We're proud to be celebrating this significant milestone at Robin Hood. 300,000 passengers is an incredible achievement.”
