Mrs Margaret Coulson (nee Smith) of Ashgate and latterly of Woodlands Nursing Home has sadly passed away peacefully after a long illness aged 83 years.Born in Northamptonshire but living in the Chesterfield area, she commenced her working life at Swallows Department Store and then moved to John Turner Ltd Department Store where she met and then married her husband Harry (deceased).Harry and Margaret ran an off licence store on Sheffield Road for many years before moving to a confectionery shop on Chatsworth Road where they became very well known in the Brampton area.Margaret went on to work for the Willet Sweet Company in the town centre Candy Box store until the age of 78 when she retired. She was an avid gardener, loved baking and flower arranging and dedicated her spare time to St Mark's Church, Brampton.There will be a funeral service at St Mark's Church on Wednesday the 26th April 2017 at 12.30pm followed by a short service of committal at Brimington Crematorium.Funeral Directors: Hattersley and Sons Ltd, 211 Chatsworth Road, Brampton, Chesterfield, tel 01246 232820.
