Marathon girl’s personal cause

Have your say

A KEEN runner from Sheffield is taking on the city’s half marathon to raise money for dementia charity the Alzheimer’s Society.

Emma Adams, aged 29, from Lowedges, is running the 13-mile race on May 27 in memory of her grandmother Dora Adams, who was diagnosed with dementia before her death aged 86.

Emma, a stationery shop assistant, has set herself a fundraising target of £200 and has been training with local running groups.

“Unless you actually know somebody who’s had Alzheimer’s, you don’t really know how hard it is – it can take its toll on relatives,” she added.
