Man tries to lure 11-year-old boy into car in Peak District

At around 5.50pm on February 23, an 11-year-old boy was walking his dog when a man in a grey coloured vehicle pulled alongside him and offered him a lift home. The boy declined and continued to walk home.

The man in the vehicle was described as white, aged in his forties, with blonde curly hair and stubble on his face. He was believed to be wearing cycle style clothing which was black and blue in colour.

Officers from the Hathersage Safer Neighbourhood Team are reassuring residents following the incident and are asking them to continue to reinforce the message around children and strangers.
