A man was thrown from a van as it rolled in a crash on a motorway near Sheffield.

Emergency services, including an air ambulance, were called the the link-road from the M18 southbound to the M1 northbound at around 3.10pm on Saturday.

A police spokesman said: "There were two casualties from the vehicle, and although their injuries are classed as serious, the doctors tell us that they will make a full recovery - even though the passenger was apparently thrown from the vehicle as it rolled."

He said enquiries into how the collision occurred were ongoing.
