Man threatened staff with knife in Sheffield shop

A man escaped with cash after using a knife to threaten shop workers during a raid in Sheffield.

He struck at Spar on Sandygate Road, Crosspool, at around 9.15pm on Wednesday, March 28.

Two members of staff in the store at the time were unharmed but are said to have been left 'shaken' by their ordeal.

Detectives investigating the incident are reviewing CCTV.

A South Yorkshire Police spokeswoman said: "It was reported a man armed with a knife had entered the store and made demands for cash before making off.

"The two members of staff were not injured in the incident, however they were left shaken by what happened.

"A quantity of cash of taken during the robbery.

"A dedicated team of officers are investigating the incident and have been working to speak to witnesses in the area and review CCTV."
