Man 'threatened to stab a number of people' in Rotherham
The man, who works in the town but did not want to named, said bystanders interjected when a man waved a knife around on Canklow Road at around 1.30pm.
He said: "A guy walked out of into the street with a knife and people tried to stop him. He then tried to stab a few people before someone tried to take the knife off him.

Hide Ad"His throat got slashed but I don't know if it was by himself or in the struggle."
A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: "South Yorkshire Police received a call from a member of the public who had concerns for the welfare of a man on Canklow Road in Rotherham.
"Officers came to the man’s assistance at around 1:30pm today, Wednesday May 9.
"He has a slash wound to his neck and was taken to hospital by ambulance.
"His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening and officers are not looking for anyone else in connection with the incident."
