A man suffered an electric shock during a street mugging in Doncaster yesterday.

The 24-year-old was walking along Queen Mary’s Road, Rossington, to take money to a bank when he was assaulted from behind.

Police believe a taser or cattle prod-type weapon may have been used in the incident, but the victim was not seriously injured.

The robber got away with an undisclosed quantity of cash after grabbing the bag in which it was being carried.

The suspect, who escaped on foot, is described as white, about 5ft 8ins tall, of slim build.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 731 of July 14.
