A man who was found with serious injuries close to Barnsley town centre has sparked a police probe.
Officers say at around 10.55pm last night, members of the public called emergency services to report they had found a man, 30, seriously injured in Lambra Road, close to Pontefract Road.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: "We are appealing for witnesses to come forward after a man was found with serious injuries in Barnsley yesterday evening.
"Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have been in the Lambra Road area last night, who may be able to help police determine the circumstances surrounding this incident."
