Man suffers serious head injuries after falling from electrically assisted bike in Sheffield

A man has suffered life-threatening head injuries after falling from an electrically assisted bike in Sheffield.

The 58-year-old was riding the bike along Birley Lane towards Crystal Peaks when the wheels went into the tram tracks and fell.

The accident happened just before 10.30am today.

The man suffered head injuries and was taken to hospital.

Police want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time and may have witnessed the accident.

Anyone with information is asked to call South Yorkshire Police on 101 quoting incident number 262 of March 12, 2015.
