Man seriously injured in knife attack in South Yorkshire street

A man suffered a 'potentially life changing injury' in a knife attack in a South Yorkshire street.

Schofield Street, Mexborough

The 46-year-old was injured during a disturbance in Schofield Street, Mexborough, Doncaster, on Friday afternoon.

When officers arrived they found that a number of cars had been damaged and that a man had been seriously injured with a blade.

Three men were arrested on suspicion of assault and threats to kill.

Detective Sergeant Rob Cobley said: “Following extensive enquiries in the area, including house searches and CCTV work, we have arrested three men, aged 28, 25 and 23, on suspicion of assault and threats to kill. They remain in police custody at this time.

“As the investigation continues we remain keen to hear from anyone who saw what happened or who has any information about the incident and has not yet come forward.”
