A man is believed to have been stabbed during a disturbance in Darnall this afternoon.

The 23-year-old was taken to hospital with ‘serious injuries’ following the incident on Swarcliffe Road, at about 2.20pm.

The man’s friends and relatives gathered at the Northern General Hospital where he is being treated.

A man who was attending the hospital said he saw a silver BMW car parked outside with blood smears on its bodywork.

He said he saw a number of women crying near the car, and police and security guards talking to them.

“I asked what was happening and was told there had been a stabbing,” he added.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said the man’s injuries are not life-threatening. Call 101, quoting incident number 505 of August 11.
