Man seriously injured after falling from bonnet of moving car outside Rotherham United stadium

A man was seriously injured after falling from the bonnet of a moving car outside Rotherham United’s New York stadium.

The 21-year-old had been sat on the bonnet of a black Ford Fiesta when the driver set off.

South Yorkshire Police said the man on the bonnet suffered serious head injuries as he fell from the moving car.

The incident occurred on the north stand car park outside the football stadium at 7.45pm on Saturday, June 13 but details were only released yesterday when officers investigating the incident appealed for witnesses to come forward.

The injured man remains in Rotherham General District Hospital with serious head injuries.

South Yorkshire Police said: “We would like to speak to anyone who was in the car park on the night of the incident, or anyone who has any information regarding the circumstances. Nobody has been arrested.”
