Man says yes to beer proposal
A Derbyshire beer secured a marriage proposal in Finland, when a woman used a bottle of Thornbridge Brewery's '˜I Love You Will U Marry Me' beer to pop the question to her boyfriend.
Karoliina took her boyfriend Niko out for a drink on his 27th birthday and presented him with a bottle of Thornbridge’s strawberry blonde ale - which they’d previously tried when it was on tap in their local Helsinki pub. Attached to the bottle was her great-grandfather’s wedding ring.
Niko said: “I thought it was odd when she was filming me open my present, then I just stared at the words “I love you will u marry me” for a long while before I snapped out of it and remembered how to actually be a normal human being again. Then I said of course I will marry you!”
