Firefighters tackled a fire in a flat in Windmill Avenue, Conisbrough in the early hours of Sunday, rescuing a man who was taken to hospital for treatment.

Firefighters had to use ladders to tackle a chimney fire at a home on Herdings View, Gleadless, Sheffield.

No one was injured but the house suffered slight damage in the blaze on Friday night.

And firefighters had to cut off the roof of a car to free a driver after his vehicle was in collision with a tree on Friday afternoon on Grange Lane, Thorpe Hesley. The driver needed hospital treatment.

A fire broke out in an apartment in a sheltered housing complex on Wheeldon Crescent, Brimington, Chesterfield, on Friday afternoon.

The blaze at Devonshire Court was soon extinguished by crews from Dronfield and Staveley and no one was hurt.
