Man needed stitches after being attacked outside South Yorkshire pub

A man needed stitches to his face after he was attacked outside a pub.

The 43-year-old victim left a pub with his daughter at around 2.30am on Saturday, May 3, and they were walking up Mexborough High Street when they were approached by two men near an optician’s.

Police said one of the men punched the victim in the face and he fell to the ground and lost consciousness.

The two men then ran away up High Street.

The man suffered a gash to his face which required stitches.

The suspects are described as both being black or mixed race, and were around 5ft 6ins and of medium build.

They were both wearing dark clothing.
