Man killed in head-on smash in Sheffield named

A man killed in a head-on collision in Sheffield has been named.

In tributes posted on Facebook, shocked friends and relatives have named the 32-year-old as Troy Brealey.

Troy, a dad-of-two, died when the red Audi A3 he was driving crossed onto the wrong side of the road on a bend and collided with a van travelling in the opposite direction.

The collision happened on the A57, near Beighton, as Troy was travelling from the Beighton Road roundabout towards Swallownest at 5pm on Tuesday.

Troy was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 23-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the white Ford Transit van suffered serious injuries and was taken to hospital, where he currently remains.

Witnesses should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 743 of July 17.
